My desire to start a blog started around 6 months ago. Not for the reason that I am a fantatstic writer and have so many interesting things to say, nor that I am an expert 'anything' and the blogging universe needs to be finally let in on my secrets ha! Actually to be honest, Im not exactly sure why I wanted to start a blog, other than the fact that I have been exploring and discovering and unearthing some truly fantastic ideas that I felt were too good to just be sitting there rattling away in my head. I'm not sure if anyone will read my posts or follow my blog, it may very well just be little ol' me having a bit of fun with myself.
I suppose I should start with a bit of a background on me. Well I am a married mum to 2 boys under 2! (Crazy I know - you dont have to remind me!) My eldest (Master A) is about to turn 3, and baby (Master L) almost 1! My boys are my everything and I cant imagine my life without them. Quite funny when I think back at how non-maternal I was and so very career driven. I must admit, I am still very career focussed, but certainly not to the degree or extent that I ever was. I have the bills and paperwork all beside me ready for filling (yes ok, Im procrastinating!) while Master A is busy building a fort around our lounge room (using anything he can find from cushions, to broom sticks, and Mr Potatoe Head pieces) to "block" his little brother (who has just started crawling) from escaping. They both make me laugh and I know I am biaised, but I really could not have asked for 2 more cuter, well behaved, clever little boys. I am really proud of them and will be sharing lots of stories on them along the way (including their upcoming parties which I know you will just love!!)
My job (other than being mum) is in strategic incentive marketing. I am the General Manager of a successful global company based in Melbourne Australia. After my first baby I took a year off maternity leave and came back part time. With my second son now coming up to his first year, I am about to start back again. I am so lucky that the company I work for has been so supportive of my family life and have provided me so much flexibility. I am a little nervous about heading back into the office, but also looking forward to getting back into the corporate world for just a few days a week. I am even luckier that I just have THE BEST mother in the world who looks after my boys while Im at work. I truly could dedicate an entire blog to my mother as she is an amazing woman and I cant begin to tell you just what she does for and means to my family. I think I might be a bit lucky being the first born with the first grandkids (I bet my brother and sister hope that mums love of grandchildren doesnt wear off before they have kids!).
I am married to a truly wonderful man. My soul mate, my best friend! We have known each other since we were 13 years old meeting at high school (ahhh yes, high school sweethearts!), but actually didnt start dating until our final year. We have been married for 5 1/2 years (13 years together altogether now) and I am so proud of the man he is. He is an inspiring man and someone I look up to with so much love and admiration. He has had an amazing life and I am so proud of everything he has achieved. Most importantly, he is just the best Dad ever and so good to our boys. They just adore him and he would anything for them!
So welcome to my life! Gosh it all sounds a little mushy, fairytale doesnt it!! haha! Well enough of all that, I'll start getting into some interesting stuff soon and look forward to seeing where this blogging adventure will take me...
